Yemen’s army targets ships in Red Sea and India Ocean

In a televised statement, spokesman for the armed forces Yehya Sariee said that the Yemeni army carried out an operation in the Red Sea against a cargo ship called “Cyclades” that was previously blacklisted by the group for violating a Yemeni military ban on ships traveling to Israeli occupied ports.

Yemen’s armed forces announced last night that they targeted Israeli and US ships in the Red Sea and Indian Ocean.

Sariee also said the armed forces targeted two US warships with drones in the Red Sea and another Israeli cargo ship called “MSC Orion” in the India Ocean, describing the operations as “successful.”

Meanwhile, the US central command said it intercepted on Sunday five Houthi drones in the Red Sea in a post on social platform X.

The spokesman for Yemen’s armed forces reiterated Yemen’s position that it would continue its operations in the Red Sea and Indian Ocean until the Israeli occupation regime stops its aggression against Gaza.

The Ansarullah group and its armed forces in northern Yemen started their attacks on international shipping in mid-November last year in an attempt to pressure for an end to the Israeli war crimes in Gaza.
